A Small Miracle, Inc, is pleased to partner with The Asperger Connection School!  Located in Pikeville, NC, the school will host its inaugural class in the 2011-2012 school year.

Nancy Black, Founder and Executive Director, has designed the entire school experience around the unique learning styles and abilities of students with Asperger Syndrome.  Small class sizes (1 teacher and 1 teacher’s assistant for every 5 students) with well-prepared, experienced teachers will maximize learning while electives that include art, music, social communication, and therapeutic horseback riding will encourage social skills and growth.

Our agency has worked with Ms. Black and many of the students while hosting the Conversations Program over the past year.  We have presented $300 for the purchase of therapeutic equipment, an assortment of MegaBlocks HALO building sets, and a selection of books on Asperger Syndrome to be included in the new school’s lending library.  We will also be assisting with special projects throughout the coming school year.
